The Panamint Dunes are a two-hour hike away from a bad 4WD road in Death Valley, so you won't see many other folks if you visit. The only tracks are along the crest of the dune, left by one of my hiking compnaions who's much quicker than I am. The desert is a wonderful place to practice black-and-white photography.
